President Hank's August 2022 report
Recognition Day, early July, a great success, with announcements of two Life Memberships Charles Donaldson and Brenda Savy - well earned by two good working people.
Past members were invited to the club for the presentations, light luncheon and a reunion with friends from the past. Some of these people accepted the offer of a quick look around the course by buggy and were impressed.
The new cart shed is now complete and some spaces are already occupied,
Tim Chisholm has arrived home and is recovering from surgery and already looking forward to returning back to golf.
The first two days of August and the ground staff are needle tyneing (spiking ) greens to help with drainage after all the rain we have had over the winter.
Hope to have a survey out to all members in the coming weeks.
Remember today Aug 1st is the horses birthday. Happy birthday to Mr Ed.
Cart drivers please remember to lookout & avoid et spots.
GOOD GOLFING
Hank.
VVGA Event at BPGC - March 2022

As most of you would have been aware, BPGC hosted the Victorian Veterans Association 4ball Championships over 20th, 21st & 22nd March 2022 in perfect golfing conditions. We are happy to advise that the players are now highly likely to promote our club Victoria wide and that this event was a financial success.
I would like to commence by firstly thanking Paul Chapman and his family at Australian Turntables for coming on board as the major sponsor of this event. Paul is a reasonably new member so it is really appreciated – thanks Chappy.
We hosted a BBQ on the Sunday night for around 30 players & wives, so I’d like to give a shout out to Terry Joy & Mick Elliot for coming out and cooking for them and the ladies for supplying the salads.
Over the Monday and Tuesday, we had a number of members come out and give up their time to either spot or rake bunkers so that the field of 114 could keep moving along, – I won’t mention all their names but they were not only appreciated by us but by also the Council of VVGA, so thank you very much to those members.
My thanks are further extended to so many –
Fred, David and the ground staff volunteers who were out there early on both mornings to prepare our course to be in tip top condition.
To the bar staff, in the club & on the drinks carts
Car park attendants keeping cars & trailers orderly and to all the members who allowed their carts to be hired out.
Lyn for her flowers & arranging.
Debbie and Paul in the Pro Shop – was a long few days getting the hire carts in and out, but you survived, well done.
To our amazing kitchen staff who were competently led by Di Bolton who had especially come out of retirement to head up the catering team. The food provided on all days was amazing & most appreciated.
To all those who supplied slices for morning tea,
To the volunteers who had put in a few hours the week before on a working bee around the clubhouse and to the cleaners who did a couple of extra shifts to ensure our club was up to a great standard.
Finally, as Captain, I would like to make a special mention to our Lady Captain, Sue. I would personally like to thank her for everything she did over the two days to assist me. I really don’t know what I would have done without her and I really appreciated her help.
I hope I haven’t missed anyone but we as a club were congratulated by the VVGA for our professionalism in hosting the event and that was only because of our dedicated members volunteering their time to make sure that the event ran as smooth as it did
- SO ONCE AGAIN, A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL
